Praise for William’s performance with Scottish Chamber Orchestra
The Herald’s Keith Bruce has lauded William Berger and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s performance at Stirling Castle on Thursday 19th July with conductor Nicholas McGegan. This performance featured, as part of the orchestra’s Highland Tour, a programme of Mozart, Haydn and Cimarosa. Particularly highlighted was William’s rendition of Domenico Cimarosa’s 1792 cantata Il Maestro di Capello, an operatic intermezzo in one act in which the singer performs the part of a pompous maestro rehearsing an orchestra. Bruce comments that “Berger reveled in the theatricality of this playful piece” and proceeds to name the cantata as “(…) a highlight of an upcoming Linn disc this team is making.” To read the full review, visit The Herald’s website.
William and the orchestra are currently in the studio recording a new disc for Linn Records.
